CHILDREN’S BOOKS ON DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION

WLAIC is collaborating with the West Linn Public Library to raise awareness of the wonderful selection of books available to our children on diversity and inclusion themes. Children’s Librarian Kimberley Rhoades and the Youth Services Team at the library have a passion for bringing the world to all of our children through reading. They have worked hard to acquire a collection of age-appropriate books for children that show us how to be inclusive and accepting of differences in skin color, gender identification, or socioeconomic status.  There are also resources to help families with subjects on race, gender inequality, bullying, and discrimination.  These books celebrate our differences and help promote the development of an inclusive community.
