The West Linn Alliance is starting a monthly Book/Film Discussion Group. We believe one gateway to equity is by learning through community discussion. To this end, we are organizing opportunities in 2021 for both our members and the public to participate in monthly discussions relevant to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
Throughout the year we plan to focus on six books and six films and organize a group discussion around each. We will alternate with a film one month and a book the next. Meetings will be virtual until COVID restrictions have relaxed.
We are carrying out this community program in partnership with the West Linn Public Library. Through their Kanopy program, library members can stream the monthly film free of charge, after signing up. The library will also endeavor to have copies of the designated books available for checkout on the “book” months.
You don’t need to commit to every monthly session in order to participate. Once you have joined the West Linn Alliance Book/Film Discussion Group, you will be emailed monthly with a chance to RSVP for that month’s discussion.
