It is interesting to reread classics in the American repository of historical documents. Why does this one stand the test of time? It was written in 1963 and addressed to clergy members. But its classic line “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere” has echoed to many through the decades. It also calls attention to the difference between individual morality and group morality. Still, it is very personal. You feel the pain and the love ML King felt, even while being jailed after the race riots in Birmingham. We’ll discuss “how is it relevant to society and us today?”
For a deeper examination of the book, we recommend you read Gospel of Freedom by Jonathan Rieder(also available as an Audible book).
