Housing in West Linn – Community Presentation
December 2 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
The West Linn City Planning Department will be presenting information on housing issues in West Linn in a WLAIC hosted presentation on December 2, 2021.
As you may be aware, Housing Bill 2001 (HB2001) requires the City of West Linn to allow for middle housing and the bill was passed by the Oregon Legislature in 2019. The City of West Linn is required to implement the bill by June 30, 2022.
The City is currently in Phase 2 of the implementation of HB2001. Phase 1 is complete and was a technical exercise completed by the consultant, determining what actions the City would need to take to comply with HB2001 and a community survey to gauge interest in going beyond minimum compliance.
The purpose of Phase 2 is to receive community feedback on policy choices and programs that could help promote the development of middle housing types in the community. The feedback will be used to help decision makers determine whether the City adopts the minimum to comply with HB2001 or adopts code language to implement some of the policy choices.
The presentation will be held as a virtual zoom meeting on Thursday December 2nd at 7:00 pm. The speaker will be Betty Avila, an associate planner with the City. A Zoom Link to the meeting will be posted in November
The West Linn Alliance has previously addressed equitable housing in West Linn and we still maintain an interest in promoting housing policy that provides greater opportunity for diversity in our City:
