The Oregon School Boards Association (OSBA) has recently reviewed a policy on: Accommodation for Religious Instruction and Cultural Observance. The suggested policy is not mandated and will be considered for adoption by individual school boards. The original policy was prepared by the Jewish Federation of Greater Portland’s intergroup outreach committee in collaboration with other minority communities who were concerned about a lack of inclusiveness in school calendaring.
We do not yet know when the WLWV School Board will consider adoption of this policy.
