We have a question for you.
Do you feel the need to show your support for DEI?
West Linn Alliance for Inclusive Community is considering a public awareness campaign — a weekly street-corner gathering with signs supporting and promoting DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion).
We’re considering Tuesday evenings from 4:30 to 5:30 at the four-way stop by Starbucks on Salamo or at the corner of Willamette Falls Drive and 10th Street by the roundabout and the Music Project.
Would you participate in one or more of these gatherings? – Please email us.
This is not a project that our steering group can pursue alone. We need member support to effectively bring public awareness to the real costs of abandoning DEI.
The current administration is gutting DEI programs in the federal government and also menacing private businesses and organizations with law suits over “illegal discrimination,” pressuring them to fall in step. One example: any organization that applies for or receives money from the National Endowment for the Arts is prohibited from “operating any programs which promote diversity, equity and inclusion.”
Equity is defined as “the quality of being fair and just.” Can we sit back and allow its opposite—”injustice, prejudice and discrimination”—to prevail?
