Freedom to Read

Response to Racism LO is holding a community event entitled – Freedom to Read: What’s at Stake. Attacks on school and public libraries around the country are on the rise, with vocal minorities seeking to control what others can read. The acquisition of knowledge is perceived as a danger by some who see exposure to ideas they disagree with as unacceptable.  The expansion of individual awareness and intellectual horizons through reading is at stake.
